Day 4

This filming day was particularly hard as we had to film lip syncing, the scene had to be filmed various amounts of time to ensure our lip syncing was on time. We had Jana and Grammar Schools teacher ( as her boss) lip syncing lyrics about losing her job. We filmed in his office to keep that manager feel.

Day 3

On 16th January we filmed at a variety of locations as they were all close in proximity meaning we could use our time efficiently. We filmed at the job centre, Rachel's house for car washing, local corner shops and busking at a train station.

 

Outside our school

Audience

Our audience for our music video is most likely to be young adults as they can relate to the narrative. it is important for your audience to feel as if they relate to your product as they will want to purchase it. Our mise en scene and the jobs we chose for Inka to perform are all jobs that young adults may also do in times of financial crisis.

Filming Problem

We also faced filming problems as when we went to upload our footage to the mac our file was in the wrong format so we were unable to upload the first days filming. This was a major setback and we decided to scrap the fist day filming as re filming would've cost us too much time.

Actors

We were initially going to use someone else outside of the group to act but we realise that it was too time consuming. this is why we used Jana as our main actor, although the song is sang by a male we have a female actor as we want to keep Inka's identity hidden.

Inka

We decide to keep our name Inka as it was unisex, our main aim, and our audience seemed to like it. we didn't want to specify any gender with our singer, this was to keep it ambiguous.

Star image

Richard Dyers star theory is the idea that icons and celebrities are manufactured by institutions for financial gain. He believes that stars are constructed to represent 'real people' experiencing real emotions. Stars are manufactured by the music industry to serve a purpose; to make money out of audience, who respond to various elements of a star’s personality by buying records and becoming fans. 

Change Idea

We decided to change our idea to something more relaxed and free as we thought the story was too strong in our previous idea. The song we have now chosen is ‘ I need a dollar ‘ by Aloe Blacc.

Day 2

We filmed at B&Q. Some of the shots were hard to film as we were on private property so we had to be cautious. However the filming outcome was good and we were able to film outside and inside.

Filming days started to become confusing so we created a filming schedule to keep ourselves on track.

This music video is a good example of how black and white has been used effectively, which we are considering to use.

Taking on board the feedback we plan to use snippets of violence throughout the music video. We chose to do this as we don't have to focus so much on the acting.

The way we planned our storyboard was based mainly around locations to make it easier when planning. We wrote the location at the top so we would know which scene to take with us as we had a lot of panels with us.
